Every casement is fully specified to your property — sizes, opening arrangement, hardware, colour and glazing all detailed before we start.

Timber

Accoya (recommended), engineered hardwood or oak. Factory-finished with microporous paint or stain in any RAL, Farrow & Ball, Little Greene or matched colour. Dual-colour spray as standard — different colour inside and outside if you want it.

Glazing

24mm double-glazed units as standard, using Planitherm One glass — centre-pane U-value 1.0 W/m²K. Internally glazed for security — the glass is fitted from the inside, so there are no external beads that can be prised off. Vacuum glazing available as an upgrade — whole-window U-values as low as 1.0 W/m²K. Argon fill, low-E coating, acoustic and toughened options. Astragal bars and Georgian glazing bars available.

Opening

Side-hung, top-hung, fixed lights, dummy sashes or combinations to match existing arrangements. Egress and fire-escape sizes designed to Building Regs.

Hardware

Espagnolette multi-point locking as standard. Period-correct monkey-tail or peg stays and casement fasteners in polished brass, satin chrome, antique bronze or matte black.

Sizes

Made to measure. From single cottage panes through to full-house replacement sets and large barn-conversion glazing. No standard sizes — every window bespoke.

Guarantee

30 years against rot and warping on Accoya frames. 10 years on hardware and glazing. Insurance-backed guarantee via HomePro.

Compliance

Certass registered, Approved Document L (thermal) and Q (security) compliant. PAS24 available on ground-floor. Listed Building Consent supported.

A flush casement is a timber window where the opening sash sits flush within the frame when closed — the sash and frame are on the same plane, giving a clean, traditional look. It's the style used across most Yorkshire cottages, farmhouses and Georgian properties, and works equally well in contemporary builds where slim sightlines matter.

How much do bespoke flush casement windows cost?

Bespoke double-glazed flush timber casement windows typically range from £900 to £1,800 per window fitted, depending on size, timber species (Accoya, engineered hardwood, oak), glazing specification, hardware and any restoration work required. What's the difference between flush and storm-proof casements?

A flush casement sits flat within the frame — traditional and elegant. A storm-proof casement has a small weather lip on the sash that overlaps the frame, offering slightly better weather resistance for very exposed positions. Both perform excellently on weather-tightness thanks to modern seals — the choice is mostly aesthetic. Flush is the more period-correct option for heritage properties.

Are flush casement windows suitable for listed buildings?

Yes — flush casements are usually the preferred style for listed and heritage buildings because they replicate the traditional look of original windows. We also offer factory-sprayed dual-colour finishes as standard — one colour on the outside face, another on the inside — sprayed in the same production pass so no site painting is required. Ideal when the exterior needs to match brickwork or a heritage palette and the interior needs to slot into a white-walled scheme.

How long is the lead time?

Typical lead time from order to installation is 8-12 weeks depending on complexity and time of year. Urgent projects and single windows can often be turned around faster — please ask when you enquire.
